Add a white border to photos, in the browser
Clean margins for Instagram, prints and portfolio tiles. Fit any photo into a 4:5, square or story frame with white bars instead of a crop, at full quality, and your files never leave your device.

Up to 30 at a time. The first one previews live while you set the frame; every one is exported with the same settings.
Runs in your browser. Photos are never uploaded.
A landscape photo in the 4:5 frame gets white bars above and below and is never cropped · the whole picture, at the tallest size the feed allows.
Of the long edge. Six is a gallery mat; zero leaves only the bars a frame needs.
White
Long edge of the finished file. Original keeps every pixel and adds the border around it.
WHY A BORDER
The frame is the one crop you control
Instagram shows a portrait at 4:5 and a landscape at 1.91:1, and it crops anything else. A white border turns the crop into a choice: the whole photograph, inside the frame the platform wants, with the margin doing the work a mat does on a print. It also gives a set of mixed shapes one consistent look in a grid, which is why portfolio sites and print labs ask for it. The same margins are what a lab needs for a borderless-safe print; the resizer handles exact pixel sizes when the shape is already right.
GETTING IT RIGHT
Four things before you export a set
Bars, not crops, for landscapes
A wide frame in a 4:5 feed slot is cropped to a square by default. With bars above and below it keeps its width and runs at the full height of the feed.
Match the border to the set
Pure white reads cleanest on a white feed; a warm white sits better next to film scans. Use one colour for the whole grid, not one per photo.
Export at the size it renders
1080 on the long edge is what Instagram shows. 2160 keeps a sharp copy for a website; Original is for prints and the archive.
Strip the metadata first
A JPEG from a canvas carries no EXIF, so the camera, serial and location are already gone. For originals you send elsewhere, the metadata remover does it losslessly.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Questions people ask about borders
Are my photos uploaded?
No. The border is drawn on a canvas inside your browser and the file is written on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere.
How do I post a landscape photo on Instagram without cropping it?
Pick the 4:5 portrait frame. The whole photo sits inside it with white bars above and below, so the feed shows every pixel at the tallest size it allows.
Does the border lower the quality?
The photo is scaled once, in high quality, to the size you choose. Pick Original and nothing is scaled at all: the border is added around the full-resolution file.
Can I use a colour other than white?
Yes. Warm white and black are one tap, and the colour picker takes anything. For a set, use one colour throughout.
