WHY THE STACK COSTS MORE THAN THE SUBSCRIPTIONS

The invisible line items

The subscriptions are only the visible cost. Free and entry gallery tiers take a cut of your sales — Pixieset's free plan and CloudSpot's lower tiers charge about 15% on store sales. Card processing adds ~2.9% on everything (that part's a wash — Kepla uses the same rails). And the biggest line item never shows up on a receipt: the evenings you spend being the integration layer — copying client details between tools, remembering who hasn't signed, chasing balances by hand, and never quite getting to the "hey, it's been a year!" rebooking emails that a system should send for you.

COMMON QUESTIONS

FAQ

How much do photographers spend on business software?

A typical stack — CRM at $29–$109/mo plus galleries at $7–$42/mo, often with a separate e-sign or scheduling tool — lands between $450 and $2,000 per year before gallery commissions and processing fees.

Do gallery tools charge commission on sales?

Some do on lower tiers — Pixieset's free plan and CloudSpot's entry plans take about 15% of store sales. Kepla's paid founding plans take 0% on download-paywall revenue. See the Pixieset and CloudSpot comparisons.

Are payment processing fees different on Kepla?

No — card processing runs ~2.9% on virtually every platform, including Kepla, because they use similar rails. That's why it's shown on both sides here; your real savings come from subscriptions and gallery commissions.

What does Kepla cost?

Founding pricing for the first 200 waitlist photographers: $19/mo Solo or $39/mo Studio, locked for as long as you stay subscribed — CRM, contracts, invoicing, galleries, and AI follow-ups in one.
